​Appalachia Today is a free-to-view publication owned and operated by Casey Nicholson of Greeneville, Tennessee.  The ambition is for Appalachia Today to always remain a free to view, free to read site, with little to no advertisements.

This is not to say that there are no costs associated with the website.  Web hosting, the domain itself, and the time and effort invested in the site all come at considerable cost.  In addition, Casey Nicholson is a part time graduate student in Appalachian Studies.  Any money raised here goes to support the site itself, alongside Nicholson's tuition and academic expenses as he continues to learn more about the Appalachian region.  To this end, anything you can spare to support this independent journalism venture is very appreciated.
