Last week we posted our list of Thirteen Concerts That Rocked Appalachia in 2025. There we recalled our favorite concert memory from each month of the year, plus one for good measure from Labor Day 2025. But that wasn’t all the music that came through the Appalachian region in 2025.
To be fair, it would be impossible to compile an exhaustive list of ALL the touring acts that came through the Appalachian Region this past year. With the Appalachian Mountains stretching from Maine to Georgia, and the Southern Appalachians stretching as far west as Mississippi, there's no way to keep up with all the good music that was played in this part of the US in a given year. But that didn't stop us from trying!
Appalachia Today was on hand for over 100 concerts in these mountains in 2025. Once you factor in opening acts and music festivals, we saw some 200 bands and artists this past year. The vibes ranged from the traditional Bluegrass sounds of Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder, to the contemporary soul of The Teskey Brothers and St. Paul & The Broken Bones, to thunderous arena shows from legendary rock and metal acts like AC/DC and Metallica, and to top-notch tribute shows celebrating groups from the past like The Allman Brothers, the Grateful Dead, and The Band.
Check out our curated playlist of all the great music we saw in 2025, on both Spotify and Apple Music, and be sure to follow our Appalachia Today profile on your streaming service of choice!
